9:15 AM Adult Forum / Lenten Series

Every Sunday, from 02/19/2023 to 04/02/2023, 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM

Our Adult Forum Lenten study will be based on the book People of the Passion by Dr. Cathy Randall.

It is a simple theological truth: We become more like Jesus when we draw close to him. People of the Passion unpacks this tenet in a powerful examination of some of the main characters of Jesus’ final days – Mary, mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Pilate, Nicodemus, Peter, and Judas. In each session we will explore our perceptions and our knowledge of these individuals, pointing out how each person played significant roles in exposing themes of faithfulness, gratitude, conflict, power, and betrayal.

We are called to embrace the grace and opportunity of Lent. When we pause to examine our hearts and spirits, we are reminded that “we are an Easter people.” In this, we celebrate Christ’s resurrection, understanding that everything about our redemption hinges upon the most significant event in human history: Easter morning.

Our sessions will begin on Feb 19 and continue on Feb 26. We will take Mar 5 off for Breakfast Sunday and resume for the following 3 Sundays, Mar 12, 19, 26. We meet in the Library between services 9:15-10:15 AM.
