Altar of Repose

All who wish are welcome to join this all night watch in the chapel beginning with the end of the Maundy Thursday Rite, at 8:30 p.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Good Friday. Come at any hour through the night until 12:00 p.m. Friday.
The Altar of Repose and the Watch of Gethsemane
As soon as the Maundy Thursday service ends, the consecrated bread and wine are placed on the altar of repose and will remain there until the Mass of the Presanctified on GOOD FRIDAY, the following day.
The Watch of Gethesemane is staying awake and praying with Christ. On the night before he was arrested, Jesus went to the Garden of Gethesemane to pray and he asked his disciples to come and pray with him. He said, “Stay here and keep watch with me.” Matthew 26:38
So, we as modern Anglicans, stay awake to Watch and Pray with Jesus. There will be
a signup sheet on the bulletin board in the Welcome Center and we hope also to have an online signup. Please sign up for at least one hour.
